Dr. Sherika Newman
Dr. Sherika Newman is the physician every patient deserves. With a gentle spirit and a listening ear, she pours love into every patient experience. For Dr. Newman, palliative care is not just a practice; it’s a calling.
After attending Nova Southeastern College of Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL, she completed her Family Medicine residency in 2008. In 2009, she finished her Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Broward Health.
Since then, Dr. Newman has played a leading role in both inpatient and outpatient palliative medicine including operating her own private practice from 2009-2011, leading the Lee Memorial Hospital Q-Life Palliative Medicine Program from 2011 until 2014 and managing at Emory University as the Palliative Site Director of Emory Saint Joseph Hospital until July 2017. Her experience has earned her the recognition to serve as a national leader in palliative care.
In 2012, Dr. Newman was a nominee for the Robert Wood Johnson Leadership Award. She has also left her mark on the Florida Physician’s Orders for Life-Sustaining Therapy (POLST).
With Dr. Newman, you get more than just a physician; she has a heart for the people. She is a public speaker who uses local and regional platforms to educate communities on Palliative Care including an appearance on ABC affiliate WZVN in Fort Myers, where she spoke openly about compassionate care.

Practicing alongside her colleague, Michelle Evans, the two bring nearly two decades of success to family medicine. Dr. Newman gives patients the personal touch providing an intimate restorative experience. “It’s about our family caring for your family,” she said.

Dr. Michelle Evans
Dr. Michelle Evans mission is to provide personalized, high-quality care on an as-needed or preventative basis. Her journey as a notable family physician began as she attended Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
She is also certified by the American Board of Family Medicine She has since been practicing medicine for 13 years, specializing in primary care and nursing home services. Evans goal is to serve your entire family for all of your medical needs in all stages of life. She believes in providing comprehensive health care services to patients as well as educating patients on how they can achieve their best physical state.
As a co-founder of Doctor In The Family, Dr. Evans has partnered with Dr. Newman to create an entity they believe in. “In traditional medicine, you’re pushed into seeing more and more people a day,” explained Dr. Evans. “I wanted to get back to a time where I could actually see my patients and interact with them giving the care they deserve.”
